Nothobranchius Furzeri
Native Habitat: Africa: Pans in Ghona-re-Zhou
Game Reserve in southeastern Zimbabwe. Reported from Save River. Extremely
rare and is threatened by habitat destruction and insecticide spraying.
Temperament: Aggressive and cannibalistic
Feeding: Some
flake foods high in protein and adult brine shrimp and/or bloodworms, along with
live foods such as
grindal worms,
white worms,
red worms,
Daphnia,
Moina, and newly
hatch brine shrimp nauplii
Sexing: Males are colorful longer fins, female
is slightly larger
General Comment: Annual killifish with short life span
of about 6 months. Breeding,
storing eggs and hatching young not recommended for novice or beginner hobbyists
