Native Habitat:
Africa: Mozambique and South Africa, marshes on
the coastal plain near Beira and pans in the Kruger National Park
Temperament: Males can be
aggressive
Feeding: Some
flake foods high in protein and adult brine shrimp and/or bloodworms, along with
live foods such as
grindal worms,
white worms,
red worms,
Daphnia,
Moina, and newly
hatch brine shrimp nauplii
Sexing: Males are
colorful longer fins
General Comment: Annual killifish
with shorter life span of about 1 year.. Breeding, storing eggs and hatching young not
recommended for novice or beginner hobbyists. They live about 1-2 years.
